TE'A Community

I went to The Day of Outrage for Troy Davis a few weeks ago in Union Square and it made me think about how important it is for people to be able to come together and listen to each other. There were students and professors from Hunter College, artists, union members and various other people who came to speak out. It was so informative and everyone who spoke expressed their gratitude that so many people turned up to speak and to listen.

Sarah~ thank you for the post. As you say, it is of the upmost importance that we create forums that enable us to both say the things that matter to us, as well as to listen to what matters to others. The only way we can hope to move through some of the more challenging and difficult issues that create conflict is to engage with one another in meaningful exchanges. I am continuously trying to find the most authentic and effective way to help facilitate these types of conversations~TE'A uses the Insight Approach to build in opportunities at every level throughout the TE'A process for individuals and groups to engage in conversations about what it is that matters and what is at stake.  Being able to articulate the things that one cares deeply about, and by not only listening, but really hearing what matters deeply to another, we are encouraging the types of dialogues that help people discover each other and themselves in new ways.....this is what can help us all begin to move towards a shared meaningful future.
